Dear Sandy,
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write. If I thought writing Honey's letter was hard, this must be near impossible.
I know times have been tough these last few weeks. Life without Honey is hard. But we got through it, together. I don't know how I'd have done it without you. When I helplessly collapsed in a heap in front of the open hutch, it was you who nudged the door open, leaned out and played with my hair. It was you that did the little things that make me smile on a dreary day, like digging a 2 metre long tunnel all the way up to the tree, or making us chase you round the garden for hours on end, trying to get you back into the hutch, and then, just as we are about to give up, you hop back in yourself, and suddenly our reasons for being angry with you just evaporate. Not even I can comprehend how much you missed your beloved. Yet you still were there for me when I need the company.
I know that you didn't take for granted the access you have had to food since Honey left. The vet was very impressed with how much weight you had gained. It's only now that we can really appreciate how much Honey used to eat and you delighted in your chance to have that amount of food all to yourself.
You are now, once more, united with your companion. I am sure she has missed you as much as you missed her. You can snuggle up together, once more, and will never have to leave each other's side. And don't worry, there are more carrots in bunny heaven than Honey can ever eat by herself. There will always be more than plenty left for you.
One last thing, before I must let you go, take care of Honey for me. And ensure that she takes care of you.
